8 Easy Ways to Achieve Optimum Performance | December 7, 2009

What do you get if you perform exceptionally? Respect? Rewards? Power? We all yearn for this because we are simply attracted to the many opportunities if we perform well.

So how do you become a better performer in everything you do? This article will not tell you to work endlessly and be like a zombie to be considered a “top performer”. This article will show you the simplest, easiest ways, to ultimately achieve finest performance and satisfaction…in everything you do.

1. Know what you want to accomplish:
Bearing in mind the end goal bounds the person to be directed towards it. When we feel alone, aren’t we told to mingle with friends? Glimpse on something ahead of you for you to move.

2. Stay Focus:
People get easily disturbed by the hodgepodge of diversions. The biggest “architect” is technology: chatting online, checking and updating facebook account, texting, etc… Do not drive a wedge in between your attention. Focus.

3. Manage priorities:
If you think singing before you start working is of most important, then by all means, sing. This sums up the jotting down of all things from the most important to the least one. Don’t trust your memory: overconfidence may be bogged. Bear in mind that apathy will eventually catch up on you.

4. Encourage/motivate yourself:
The driving force doesn’t need to be material or financial in nature. If going home early to be with your love ones motivates you to work hard, then make it a point to do your chores as fast, and accurate as you could. Motivation becomes a positive support for individuals-and we all know it will be recurring.

5. Relax:
An individual has only a certain level of stress enabling good performance, but when he reaches a certain point, performance dwindles. Take it easy-take a break! It’s a fact that individuals can only tolerate so much angst and stress from work and activities. Moderate yourself by listening to your body. Remember, you are no superman to “battle” all the stress.

6. Stay healthy, keep a sound body and mind:
A healthy body knows no boundaries because it enables you to use your resources properly. But when you notice something is wrong with it, don’t be penny-pinching. Take that much needed rest or consult a doctor if “symptoms persist”. Eat right, baby yourself and sleep tight (six to eight hours will suffice).

7. Practice makes perfect:
To achieve better performance, practice often. You can expect to exert lesser effort in everything you do. As the saying goes, practice makes perfect.

8. Enjoy what you do:
Even if you really do not like what you are doing, show your best smile, keep a positive outlook, and just enjoy: it makes a huge difference. Make use of your strong points and competence when performing. At the end of the day, it’s you who will be the winner.
